David Bruce

David Bruce's music is colorful, rhythmic and witty, but like his musical heros Stravinsky and Janacek, the light-heartedness can move unexpectedly to reveal moments of intensity and passion. This combination of surreal humour and profoundly moving emotions lies at the heart of Push!

David has written two previous mini-operas for Tête à Tête, Seven Tons of Dung and Has it Happened Yet. He has had works performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta, and has won prizes including the Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Competition 1994.
